Aurora Aksnes Born June 15, 1996, in Stavanger and professionally referred to as Aurora occasionally stylized as AURORA is an Norwegian artist and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15, 2015, and was praised by both music bloggers as well as press. She's recorded a variety of well-known covers, such as Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Her name was also recognized through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the track Runaway. Honor her day. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory was of discovering an attic piano and becoming enthralled by the sounds it would create. Parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to explore music and not just as a career or hobby but to grow. She began to write with her own music. Her inspirations include famous authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as the style of Bjork. The singer decided to perform their songs in public after her mother suggested that they could help people not gain fame through her music but instead help everyone else realize the significance of what they do and how they impact the world. In the age of 6 she began to learn the piano, and when she was nine, started writing songs. Her family didn't know about it until she reached 14. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. She claims she loves to compose songs. She claims that music is her preferred method to feel anything.
